Healthcare – Acting for the Regulator
We have a number of barristers who present on behalf of healthcare regulators in the UK, particularly the General Medical Council.
We are frequently instructed on behalf of various regulatory and disciplinary bodies including:
- Solicitor Regulation Authority (SRA),
- The General Dental Council,
- The Nursing and Midwifery Council and
- The General Medical Council
We also act for a range of other healthcare regulators.
We have particular strength in acting on behalf of the General Medical Council at the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service, having 12 members appointed to the full panel of specialist advocates. Our barristers have considerable expertise in the full range of proceedings including:
- Interim Order hearings
- Fitness to Practice hearings
- Registration Appeal Panel hearings
- Review hearings
- Investigative proceedings
