Inquests

Simon is a personal injury practitioner with experience of Jury and Non-Jury Inquests following road traffic accidents, deaths in custody, deaths from workplace accidents, occupational illnesses or following medical intervention.

He has been instructed on behalf of Interested Persons and to provide support to non-IP witnesses.

His background in personal injury, occupational illness and clinical negligence claims allows him to provide expert advice to clients when civil proceedings are being contemplated.

Simon was appointed as a Deputy District Judge in 2010 and as Junior Counsel to the Crown by the Attorney General (Regional Panel A) in 2020.  He is recognised as a leading individual in both Chambers and Partners and the Legal 500.

Instructed in a two day Article 2 Jury Inquest touching the death of JW who died during release from prison on licence (2021)

Instructed in an Inquest touching the death of MN. Simon was instructed on behalf of the deceased’s husband’s employer following a preliminary finding that the cause of death was Asbestosis (2019)
