Inquests

Julian has experience of inquests both within the custodial environment and those in non-custodial settings.

He acts on behalf of individuals, families, healthcare providers and corporate entities in inquests involving deaths in the workplace, prisons, hospitals and care homes.

Julian brings his criminal law experience to bear in cases involving complex expert evidence and requiring an in-depth knowledge of the law.

He is known for his calm and approachable manner, and is well placed to handle cases of the utmost sensitivity.

Inquests Cases

In the Matter of MW (Stockport Coroner’s Court 2019) Acted on behalf of the manager of a care home in 4-day hearing concerning the care and referral of a resident.

In the Matter of FR (Heywood Coroner’s Court 2019) Acted for a company providing housing to individuals who are homeless or who are at risk of homelessness. Hearing concerned death of a male who was a resident in supported accommodation.

In the Matter of JS (Preston Coroner’s Court, 2015) Acted on behalf of the family during a two-week inquest. The hearing followed the death of a man after a trench collapsed on him as he worked on a construction site linked to an offshore windfarm in Heysham in 2010.

In the Matter of DD (Blackpool Coroner’s Court, 2015Acted on behalf of the family for a man found dead in his cell at HMP Preston.

In the Matter of MT (Stockport Coroner’s Court, 2018) Acting on behalf of a care home manager following the death of a resident from a local residential home.
