A police officer represented by Julian King from Exchange Chambers faced a 2 day misconduct hearing at Avon and Somerset Police Headquarters, at Valley Road, Portishead.

PC L faced allegations of breaches of the standards of professional behaviour under honesty and integrity and duties and responsibilities. The case concerned the officer’s involvement when preparing a file in a burglary investigation, for the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS).

The evidence heard, at the 2 day misconduct hearing, by the Panel from 8.7.19 to 9.7.19, included a range of live evidence from officers and police staff, concerning investigation, file preparation and liaison with the CPS. At the conclusion of the evidence, the Panel found all allegations concerning honesty and integrity were not proven.

Allegations concerning Duties and Responsibilities were proven in part. Following submissions from the parties as to sanction, the Panel concluded the officer should receive a final written warning as opposed to dismissal.

He was instructed by Alan Ridler at Reeds Solicitors.
