Section 18 GBH acquittal for Caroline Abraham

Caroline Abraham from Exchange Chambers has secured an acquittal for her client in serious allegations of violence and threats with a knife at Leeds Crown Court.

The defendant, 33, was on trial for causing grievous bodily harm with intent after he was accused of using a van to intentionally run over the complainant. He was also alleged to have threatened a different complainant with a knife in a bid to escape following the initial incident.

The defendant accepted that he was the driver of the van however denied any intention to cause grievous bodily harm and factually denied having, producing, and making threats with a knife.

At the conclusion of the trial, the jury returned unanimous not guilty verdicts.
