    David is all things practical in his approach but with the technical knowledge behind all he advises upon. He is alive to client’s lives going forward and the impact an ill-thought-out plan, or contrary judicial decision, can have.

    We operate in times of Dispute Resolution, which must be the way, and David completely gets it. A pleasure to deal with, be it you instructing him or against him.

    I have worked with David for almost four years and would confidently instruct him for both children and financial work. He is extremely competent and has an excellent rapport with clients which instantly puts them at ease. David has undertaken complex children work and has achieved fantastic results for clients. Likewise, he is more than able to go toe to toe with more senior counsel at an FDR. 

    He is efficient and prepares well for all cases including the preparation of a Note before the hearing, detailed attendance notes and a draft order within 24 hours after a hearing. David carries himself well and is willing to assist as much as possible with a case, offering friendly advice along the way.

  • Beyond the Bar

    In September 2014, David spent 4 weeks in New Delhi, working with Sidharth Luthra, Senior Advocate at the Supreme Court of India.

    Before he commenced pupillage, David spent a year working for the Independent Police Complaints Commission. David was an Investigation Researcher, assigned to the Hillsborough investigation. This was the same topic which was covered by David in his undergraduate dissertation. He won an award for the best undergraduate project.

    David is a keen sportsman. He enjoys football, padel, squash and golf. David is a runner. He has completed many half-marathons and two marathons (New Orleans and Liverpool). David will run the Paris marathon in 2027.

Family

David has a busy matrimonial finance practice. He is regularly instructed in matters which are high value and complex. He attends FDA, FDR and final hearings. David also has experience of attending pFDR hearings. David also acts in TOLATA cases.

David has a busy private law children practice. He is regularly instructed in matters involving residence, contact, specific issue orders and prohibited steps orders. David has a particular interest in cases involving relocation and international relocation. He is regularly instructed to attend multi-day fact-finding hearings, often involving very serious allegations.

David acts in matters concerning non-molestation orders and occupation orders.
