Judicial appointment for Daniel Prowse

May 29, 2020

The Senior President of Tribunals, Sir Ernest Ryder, has appointed Daniel Prowse from Exchange Chambers as a Fee-Paid Judge of the First-Tier Tribunal, assigned to the Health, Education and Social Care Chamber (Mental Health).

Daniel’s practice encompasses all aspects of serious crime and he is regularly instructed in cases of all types of alleged offending. He is often instructed due to his experience and expertise in representing individuals who have issues with their mental health and who have been charged with serious criminal offences. He recently defended a murder trial in which the defendant had been detained in a secure mental health unit having been diagnosed with a very severe form of treatment resistant paranoid schizophrenia.

Daniel was appointed a Recorder in 2019. He will continue to practise as a barrister at Exchange Chambers alongside his judicial appointments.

Exchange Chambers would like to congratulate Daniel on his appointment.
