Exchange Chambers launches new defendant personal injury team
August 3, 2020
Exchange Chambers has launched a dedicated team acting for defendants in personal injury and clinical negligence claims.
The newly formed group brings together barristers from Exchange with extensive experience acting for insurers, NHS Trusts and public bodies.
In addition to mainstream work such as complex road traffic, employers’ and public liability claims, members of the team also specialise in a number of niche areas, including military claims.
Acting on a national level, defendant insurance work is a growth area for Exchange with the team’s members priding themselves on in-depth sector knowledge.
“In an area where we are seeing an increasing level of demand from our clients, our team is technically strong, vastly experienced and commercially-focused,” said Louis Browne QC, Head of Exchange Chambers’ defendant team.
“Providing a breadth of expertise, knowledge and personnel, we are ideally placed to defend cases at all levels, including the most complex matters.”
The team’s areas of expertise include:
- Accidents at work
- Catastrophic injury (brain/head and spinal injuries)
- Civil procedure
- Clinical negligence
- Employers’ liability
- Fatal accidents
- Fraudulent claim
- Highways claims
- Industrial disease
- Injuries in the workplace
- Inquests and public inquiries and their related judicial review hearings (At present, Louis Browne QC is representing core participants at the Grenfell Tower and Manchester Arena Inquiries)
- Military claims including NFCI claims
- Product liability
- Public liability
- Occupiers’ liability
- Road traffic accidents
