Exchange Chambers forges ever-closer links with AvMA

April 4, 2022

Exchange Chambers is delighted to be working closely with AvMA (Action against Medical Accidents), the charity for patient safety and justice.

Exchange was a sponsor of AvMA’s 32nd Annual Clinical Negligence Conference in Leeds last month with Gerard Martin KC and Paul Kirtley delivering a presentation on the law, practice and procedure relating to provisional damages and periodical payments.

Exchange is also sponsoring AvMA’s Liverpool Curry Night which is taking place tomorrow, 5 April 2022.

Since its inception, AvMA has provided advice and support to thousands of people affected by avoidable harm in healthcare each year and succeeded in bringing about massive changes to the way that the legal system deals with clinical negligence and in moving patient safety higher up the agenda in the UK.

AvMA is also responsible for making clinical negligence a specialism within legal practice, and continues to accredit solicitors for its specialist panel and promote good practice through comprehensive services to claimant solicitors.

The charity has gone on to be the leading voice for patients on patient safety and justice matters.
