Steven Crossley secures acquittal for Company accused of a breach of Section 3 of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974

Steven Crossley from Exchange Chambers has successfully secured an acquittal for a Company accused of a breach of Section 3 of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974. The Company was a contractor engaged in multi-million pounds construction work for a national chain of supermarket. A labourer was seriously injured, leading to the amputation of his lower leg, when dangerous equipment was provided to him by a site manager in circumstances where he was not qualified to use the equipment.
Following a 3 day trial at Manchester Crown Court the Company was unanimously acquitted.
