Rape and attempted rape allegations withdrawn

John Wyn Williams from Exchange Chambers has successfully argued that the evidence against his client in a rape and attempted rape trial was of such a tenuous nature that it would be unfair to ask the jury to return a verdict.
The judge agreed and found that allegations of rape and attempted rape ought to be withdrawn from the jury. Commenting on the case, John Wyn Williams said that in the present climate of historic sexual allegations it was unusual to have the case stopped mid way through proceedings.
