Practice Overview

Jordan is an experienced criminal barrister with a well-established practice in serious and complex crime. He is regularly instructed in cases involving serious violence, sexual offences, large-scale drug conspiracies and complex frauds. He is trusted by both prosecution and defence to handle sensitive cases requiring meticulous preparation, strategic advocacy, and careful handling of vulnerable witnesses.

He is known for clear, persuasive courtroom advocacy and a rigorous analytical approach to complex evidence, including digital material and multi-handed cases. A Grade 2 prosecutor, he is frequently instructed in cases involving significant disclosure issues as well as complex legal arguments. Jordan has developed sound judgement, strong case management skills and the ability to present complex legal issues clearly and effectively before a variety of tribunals.

Jordan is regarded for his approachable and professional manner when working with both professional and lay clients. He enjoys building strong working relationships with instructing solicitors through clear communication, reliability, and pragmatic advice. He is particularly skilled at communicating with lay clients in a clear and accessible way, ensuring that complex legal issues and procedural matters are explained in language they can readily understand. This instils his clients with confidence, and he assists them in making informed decisions at every stage of proceedings.

He has a particular interest in regulatory law and has been instructed both by the Marine Management Organisation in cases concerning breaches of European Fishing Regulations and Yorkshire Water Services Ltd in trade effluent prosecutions. He is also regularly instructed by local authorities in Trading Standards matters, which cover a wide range of areas including environmental, fraud and trademark offences. He is equally comfortable prosecuting and defending in cases of this sort.

Jordan has experience in representing army personnel across a broad range of matters and can provide representation in the Crown Court as well as Court Martials.

Jordan completed pupillage in March 2023. Before joining Exchange Chambers, he worked as a county court advocate undertaking small claims trials, application and interlocutory hearings as well as infant settlements. He continues to provide representation in civil matters and was recently instructed in a multi-party mediation, providing advice on complex matters of law including construction and sewerage.
