Matthew Stockwell addresses Serious Injury Guide Stakeholder Workshop

Matthew Stockwell from Exchange Chambers was a speaker at today’s “Serious Injury Guide – Stakeholder Workshop”, hosted jointly by the Forum of Insurance Lawyers (FOIL) and the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) in London.

Matthew delivered a joint presentation with Andrew Underwood, Partner and Head of Complex Injury at Keoghs LLP on route mapping.

Their presentation covered:

  • When does it work well?
  • When does it not work well or at all?
  • Rehabilitation within route mapping

Matthew has a longstanding association with APIL and has been on the Serious Injury Guide Working Party from the outset. The Working Party aims to promote joint working and collaboration in serious injury claims with a focus on rehabilitation and early resolution where practicable. Matthew is completely committed to rehabilitation and collaborative working as means to improve outcomes for injured people and their families.

Matthew served on APIL’s executive committee between 2007 and 2015, as Vice President in 2012 and President in 2013.

He is also co-author of the APIL Guide to Accidents at Work and has particular knowledge and experience of brain injury litigation, delivering APIL’s brain injury training courses and actively contributing to APIL’s catastrophic injury training programme.
