Liability success for Will Waldron QC and Andrew Ward

May 10, 2019

Will Waldron QC and Andrew Ward from Exchange Chambers represented the Claimant, AP, at a preliminary trial of liability in the High Court in Manchester on 18th and 19th March 2019. As AP walked across a road in Chester-le-Street on 20th October 2014, she was struck by a car driven by the Defendant, KT. Unfortunately, AP suffered catastrophic injury and was rendered paraplegic.

Liability was established in full at the trial before Mr. David Allan QC, sitting as a Deputy High Court Judge. Oral accident reconstruction and medical A&E consultant expert evidence was received at the trial.

Andrew commented: “Will and I are privileged to represent this inspirational Claimant. We are very pleased that liability has been established in full so that our client will receive the compensation that she deserves and we are grateful for the dedicated efforts of our instructing solicitor with whom it is a pleasure to work as a team.”

The case will now proceed in relation to quantum.
