Fraud acquittal secured by Adrian Farrow
July 6, 2016
After a week-long trial in Leeds Crown Court, Adrian Farrow obtained not guilty verdicts for a man said by the prosecution to have been a courier in a banking fraud in West Yorkshire.
Adrian’s client was one of 7 alleged conspirators, who targeted members of the Asian community and tricked them into handing over their bank cards and PIN numbers in order to steal thousands of pounds from their accounts.
Adrian’s client was arrested at the address of one of the victims of the fraudsters and his successful defence involved a detailed challenge to the mobile phone and cell-site evidence relied upon by the prosecution.
Zain Khan, said to be the ring-leader, pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 42 months’ imprisonment. The remaining defendants will be sentenced at a later date.”
