Exchange Chambers barristers secure acquittals in large scale land banking fraud trial

Following a ten week trial, Charlotte Kenny and John Wyn Williams from Exchange Chambers have secured acquittals for their clients in an alleged £3.5 million land banking fraud.

Both clients were found not guilty of playing their part in the large scale fraud spanning years and involving hundreds of investors.

Charlotte Kenny was instructed by Julie Murphy at ABR Solicitors while John Wyn Williams was instructed by Cobleys.

Charlotte is an accomplished advocate and a leading junior for the defence with a comprehensive and wide-ranging experience of serious and complex criminal cases. She has extensive advisory and litigation experience in a wide-range of substantial fraud cases, large-scale international and national drug conspiracies and other areas of serious crime. As a Level 4 prosecutor, the Special Divisions and Complex Crime Units of the Crown Prosecution Service also regularly instruct Charlotte as a leading junior in heavyweight cases.

John is a senior criminal practitioner who defends and prosecutes serious matters in the Crown Court. His experience includes leading for the Crown in a case of fraud. He has defended and prosecuted homicide along with the defence of hundreds of serious sexual offences and rape cases, and has a wealth of experience in dealing with complex historical sexual allegations.
