David Toal secures Not Guilty verdict for Doctor

David Toal from Exchange Chambers has secured a Not Guilty verdict for his client, a doctor, after a 5 day trial at Manchester Crown Court.

The defendant was charged with an offence of Assault by Penetration on one patient and 2 offences of Sexual Assault on another.  The jury returned Not Guilty verdicts on all 3 counts.

The Assault by Penetration allegation involved him working as a junior doctor and being asked to conduct an examination on the 25 year old victim.  The alleged Sexual Assaults occurred when he was conducting a pre-operative examination on a 62 year old female.
