Caroline Abraham from Exchange Chambers has secured an acquittal for her client on charges of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and possession of a bladed article.

The defendant, 42, was alleged to have assaulted the complainant with a Stanley knife causing a deep slash wound to the complainant’s neck, whilst the complainant was asleep in a vehicle in Knottingley.

The defendant denied that he was the attacker, raising the defence of mistaken identification and alibi.

At the conclusion of a 4-day trial, the jury returned unanimous not guilty verdicts.

Caroline Abraham was instructed by Howard & Byrne Solicitors.
