Bill Hanbury addresses Financial Mis-Selling Conference

Bill Hanbury from Exchange Chambers yesterday delivered a presentation at the Legal Training Consultancy’s Financial Mis-Selling Conference.

Bill delivering a 25-minute session via Zoom on Whether to plead fraud or negligence in financial mis-selling claims? Five other speakers, all experts in this difficult and complex area of work, also covered a range of topics including vicarious liability for agents, mis-selling and pensions, collective investment schemes, banking claims in the Higher Courts, whether to plead fraud or negligence in financial mis-selling claims and the defences defendants can raise when lenders seek to enforce guarantees.

Bill Hanbury has a wide-ranging commercial practice with an emphasis on property -related litigation including professional negligence especially of solicitors. He has appeared in wide range of cases and is the author of numerous books and articles. He has assisted the Law Society in the preparation of their exam materials including the steps solicitors need to take to guard against fraud. He lectured the Law Society on the Dreamvar case in 2019.
