Benjamin Myers QC and Tina Landale successfully defend teenager against charges of murder and manslaughter

Benjamin Myers QC and Tina Landale from Exchange Chambers successfully defended Sarah Willis, aged 19, against charges of murder and manslaughter.

The trial, which took place at Preston Crown Court, revealed that Miss Willis had endured a difficult relationship for several years with a man ten years older than her.  Miss Willis had always explained that her partner had inflicted the fatal wound to his thigh when he grabbed hold of a knife that she was holding during an argument they were having.  The jury acquitted Miss Willis unanimously.  The case received widespread and national media coverage.
