Annual Personal Injury Seminar 2017 hailed a great success

Exchange Chambers yesterday hosted its ever-popular Annual Personal Injury Seminar at the Radisson Blu Edwardian Hotel in Manchester.

The theme for the day was “Litigation: Navigating the Road to Success”, with a range of silks and juniors from Exchange Chambers delivering a series of short talks and presentations. Topics included selecting the right expert witness, functional capacity and disability following orthopaedic injuries, Medico-legal aspects of chronic pain, alternative dispute resolution, pension loss and avoiding negligence claims, interim payments, Eeles and the need for costs budgets, accommodation, surveillance evidence, and an overview of the discount rate.

The seminar also included an address by guest speaker Simon Arnold.  Simon spoke about his journey from serious spinal injury to qualified barrister, providing a rare insight into achieving success in the face of adversity.  Recounting his own experience, Simon reflected on his injury, the litigation process, overcoming obstacles and achieving success.

The seminar was accredited with 5 CPD points.
