Unanimous acquittal in murder case defended by Simon Medland QC and David Temkin

March 12, 2015

Simon Medland QC and David Temkin secured the unanimous acquittal of James Bland (62) who was accused of murder. Mr Bland had stabbed to death his wife of 44 years with a boning knife. She suffered 7 separate deep wounds and had many other injuries. Mr Bland then tried to take his own life by cutting his throat and wrists. The trial lasted 9 days before Mr Justice King involved the complex partial defence of Loss of Control. After hearing submissions in mitigation from Simon, the Judge imposed a sentence of 6 years’ imprisonment.

Simon and David were instructed by Lina Tsui-Cheung of Kristina Harrison Solicitors.
