June 11, 2021
Family law specialist Stephen Mallinson has been voted in as a full member of Exchange Chambers.
Stephen, who was called to the Bar in 2015, joined Exchange Chambers as a probationary tenant in February 2021 from Angel Chambers in Swansea where he developed a busy family law practice.
Commenting on his decision to join Exchange – which also sees him return to his home city, Liverpool – Stephen said:
“I am delighted to have returned home and, in the short time that has passed since joining Exchange Chambers, my practice has transformed beyond expectations. Exchange Chambers is an exceptional set with an outstanding reputation and I look forward to building my future here.”
Since joining Exchange, Stephen’s family law instructions have included an appearance in the Court of Appeal and acting for a Premier League footballer.
Said Jonathan I’Anson, Chief Executive at Exchange Chambers:
“We are delighted to welcome Stephen as a full member and wish him a long and successful career at Chambers.
“Stephen has made a hugely positive impression on colleagues and clients since joining Chambers. He is a welcome addition to our fast-growing family law team.”
In November 2020, Exchange welcomed a 14-strong family law team from Chavasse Court Chambers. The team specialises in all aspects of public and private children law cases acting for parents, children, extended family members, guardians, local authorities and government bodies, at all levels of the family court from Magistrates to High Court and the Court of Appeal.
Exchange Chambers now has 195 members including 21 silks. The 2021 Legal 500 describes Exchange as the “leading set in the North” with “tremendous strength in depth”, “standout counsel” and “real talent”.
