We are delighted to present a specialist all-day conference addressing the many ramifications of the loss of a military career. At a time when the welfare of veterans becomes of ever greater concern, the conference will address what can be done to assist those injured while serving, during the discharge process and later in civilian life. ​

12.15 – 12.45 Naomi Kerrison, member of the SSAFA Transitional Mentoring Team, on “The history and role of SSAFA and the need, and opportunities, for volunteering”

13.30 – 14.15 Brigadier Barry Bennett on “Women in Ground Close Combat Study, how has this helped all personnel prevent and recover from injuries”

14.15 – 15.00 “What can be learnt from our experiences of the discharge process” – group discussion/plenary session (chaired by Grant Evatt, Alma Law)
