Prosecution offers no evidence after post-charge representations by Imran Shafi KC

Imran Shafi KC from Exchange Chambers has successfully persuaded the prosecution to offer no evidence against his client on two separate indictments.

Client was arrested and charged with harassment of his ex-partner around four years ago. He was initially represented by a different legal team prior to Mr Shafi KC being instructed. In due course he was arrested and charged with further serious offences (second indictment). Mr Shafi KC drafted extensive post-charge representations addressing the evidence, client’s ill-health and the deficiencies in disclosure. Having persisted in inviting the prosecution to review the case, the prosecution eventually relented and offered no evidence on all counts.
