Formerly a solicitor and barrister practising in Melbourne Australia, Ray was called to the UK Bar in 2013 and has since built successful practises in the complementary and overlapping areas of criminal law, personal injury, public law and local government.
Drawing from his varied experience, Ray has developed a strong practice in the field of personal injury. He has experience of acting for both claimants and defendants in a range of personal injury matters involving applications, trials, Protocol hearings and written advices on liability and quantum.
Prior to life at the Bar, Ray served in the Royal Australian Air Force for over 20 years and attained the rank of Wing Commander. He then worked for the International Committee of the Red Cross in its Legal Division and in the field as a Delegate. Having had operational military command experience and having developed expertise in military and International Humanitarian Law, Ray is well placed to represent those effected by military law issues.
