Paul is an experienced litigator, specialising in civil law. He has experience advising and representing large organisations in ICO investigations and litigation concerning data breach, human rights and breach of privacy.

Paul was called to the Bar in 1998 and appointed Junior Counsel to the Crown (‘A’ Panel) by The Attorney General in 2015. He has significant experience of decision making in a judicial and quasi-judicial capacity, having been appointed a Legally Qualified Chair of Police Misconduct Hearings in 2016, a Legally Qualified Chair at The Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service in 2017, and a Recorder (civil) in 2019.
