Michael has wide-ranging experience of prosecuting and defending in serious crime involving terrorism offences, murder and high value missing trader intra community fraud. Michael initially practised in London before returning to Manchester in 2006.
He is a Category 4 Prosecutor for the CPS and is on the Attorney General’s list of advocates who prosecute on behalf of the Health and Safety Executive and Environment Agency.
In recent years, Michael has defended and prosecuted a number of professionals under criminal and regulatory frameworks, including police officers, nurses, teachers and solicitors in disciplinary proceedings.
Michael has also brought to bear his experience as a criminal advocate in contested dismissal cases which concern health and safety regulatory provisions on behalf of large respondent companies and claimants in employment tribunals throughout England and Northern Ireland.
