Lucy commenced a family pupillage in September 2025 under the supervision of Elizabeth Brennan and Dr Kathryn Dale. Following successful completion of her first six, Lucy began taking instructions in all areas of family law in March 2026.

During her first six, Lucy gained experience by observing and assisting on a variety of complex public law, private law and financial remedy proceedings covering a wide range of issues, including:

  • Non-accidental injury
  • Deprivation of Liberty
  • Allegations of physical, emotional and sexual abuse
  • Substance misuse
  • Coercive and controlling behaviour
  • Alienating behaviours; and
  • Multifaceted contact disputes.

Lucy brings experience of working with children and young adults with SEND to the Bar, including but not limited to autism, ADHD and social, emotional and behavioural needs, experience that informs an effective, child-focused approach.

Prior to pupillage Lucy volunteered with Support Through Court, guiding clients through private law proceedings involving applications for Child Arrangements Orders, Prohibited Steps Orders, Specific Issue Orders and injunctions, in addition to volunteering as a student leader at the University of Law Legal Advice Centre, providing pro bono advice for clients with family law issues.
