Fiona has experience of public law proceedings, including:

  • Care and Supervision Orders;
  • Interim Care Orders;
  • Emergency Protection Orders;
  • Revocation of Placement Orders;
  • Leave to Oppose Adoption Orders.

She also has experience in relation to private law proceedings, including:

  • Contact;
  • Residence;
  • Occupation Orders;
  • Special Guardianship.

Fiona has been instructed as a junior acting for a local authority in relation to opposing an application for a re-hearing of findings of fact sought in care proceedings, as a result of a different set of proceedings within the Scottish jurisdiction. Fiona assisted in conducting legal research, drafting skeleton arguments, case preparation and appearing as junior at the hearing held at the Royal Courts of Justice.

Fiona has an interest in non-accidental injury cases having been led by Naomi Madderson, representing a local authority and seeking findings in relation to a ‘baby shaking’. Fiona is ideally placed to deal with complex cases involving medical evidence given her past experience working for the General Medical Council.

Fiona has provided training to local authorities in relation to forced marriage.
