Military Claims
Chris regularly acts for Claimants and Defendants in military cases.
Chris has significant experience of cases involving Non-Freezing Cold Injury (NFCI), military noise-induced hearing loss (M-NIHL), bullying and harassment, and serious orthopaedic injuries. Chris has a strong understanding of career progression in the military, as well as the various service benefits and compensation schemes. Chris has also been involved in several cases with a cross-jurisdictional element.
Chris acted for the successful Defendant (led by Andrew Ward) in the case of Mantey v Ministry of Defence [2023] EWHC 761 (KB), where a finding of fundamental dishonesty defeated a Non-Freezing Cold Injury claim which had been pleaded at over £1,625,314.
Recent cases involve the following (updated in May 2025):
- A claim involving military noise-induced hearing loss with a likely value in excess of £1 million;
- A claim involving allegations of harassment and bullying pleaded up to £200,000.
