November 12, 2025
Nia Marshall from Exchange Chambers has been nominated in three categories at the Women and Diversity in Law Awards 2026: Woman of the Year, Diversity Champion of the Year – Barrister and Mentor of the Year.
The Women and Diversity in Law Awards celebrate individuals, teams and organisations championing diversity, equity and inclusion across the legal sector. The winners will be announced on 28 April 2026.
The Woman of the Year award recognises exceptional achievement by a woman in the legal profession. The winner will demonstrate skill, judgement, leadership and integrity, and be guided by purpose and values, including a clear commitment to furthering diversity and inclusion (D&I). In doing so, she will act as an inspiration for future leaders.
The Diversity Champion of the Year – Barrister award celebrates barristers who make an exceptional contribution to the enhancement of D&I within the legal sector by taking on additional roles and responsibilities alongside their legal practice.
The Mentor of the Year award recognises the vital importance of mentorship in advancing diversity, equity and inclusion within the legal profession. The winner will be someone who inspires others to be the best they can be, helping them to overcome obstacles that put them at a disadvantage compared with colleagues and enabling them to achieve their full potential.
Nia Marshall was called to the Bar in 2021. Following the successful completion of her pupillage, she became a tenant at Exchange Chambers in September 2024 and has since developed a busy practice in personal injury and employment law.
Nia is also the founder of International [Future] Barrister Mentorship (IFBM), a three-stage mentoring programme for international applicants keen to pursue a career at the Bar of England and Wales. IFBM has been nominated in two categories at the Women and Diversity in Law Awards 2026: Not-for-Profit Organisation or Representative Body of the Year and Diversity and Inclusion Initiative or Programme of the Year.
