Joshua Brindle, instructed by Helen Stoller of Poole Alcock Solicitors, represented the first respondent mother in this reported decision by Mrs Justice Lieven – The Father v The Mother & Ors [2025] EWHC 2135 (Fam) (30 July 2025)

The applicant father, who had previously been found to be abusive, sought permission to re-open those findings and to make an application pursuant to section 91(14) of the Children Act 1989.

Joshua persuaded the court to refuse the father’s applications and to make a further section 19(14) order. Unusually, Joshua also persuaded the court to order the father to pay the mother’s costs.
