Harriet Lavin and Sacha Waxman prosecute a multi handed conspiracy to burgle and steal motor vehicles with a total value of £1 million pounds

Operation Sevenhill was an investigation conducted by West Yorkshire Police force into a series of nighttime domestic burglaries committed in Yorkshire between December 2023 and March 2024. During that relatively short period of time, the conspirators burgled over 30 properties in affluent areas. High-value vehicles were deliberately targeted, and personal belongings were also taken from within the premises.

Some offenders pleaded guilty, others proceeded to trial at Preston Crown Court in February and March this year. The trial necessitated presentation of a large-scale sequence of events, mapping the web of telephone evidence, cell site analysis and CCTV evidence available.

One of the defence teams made a half-time submission of no case to answer on both conspiracy counts, which was successfully opposed by the prosecution team. Following a four-week trial, the jury convicted the remaining defendants unanimously.

The offenders have since been sentenced, with the severity of the offending being met with sentences for some of over 10 years’ imprisonment.
