Five members of Exchange Chambers appointed as Circuit Judges

Exchange Chambers is delighted to announce the appointments of Ian Harris, Jason MacAdam, Michael Maher, Daniel Prowse and Jon Close as Circuit Judges.

Ian Harris will be known as His Honour Judge Ian Harris. He was called to the Bar (Inner Temple) in 1990. He was appointed as a Recorder in 2008 and as a Tribunal Judge in 2014. He will be deployed to the Northern Circuit, based at Liverpool Crown Court, with effect from 16 October 2023.

Jason MacAdam will be known as His Honour Judge MacAdam. He was called to the Bar (Lincoln’s Inn) in 1990. He was appointed as a Recorder in 2009 and as a Fee-paid Judge of the First-tier Tribunal, Restricted Patients Panel, in the Health Education and Social Care Chamber in 2018.  He has been deployed to the Northern Circuit, based at Manchester Crown Court.

Michael Maher will be known as His Honour Judge Michael Maher. He was called to the Bar (Gray’s Inn) in 1995. He was appointed as a Recorder in 2020.  He will be deployed to the Midlands Circuit based at Stoke-on-Trent Combined Court (Crown) with effect from 7 November 2023.

Jon Close will be known as His Honour Judge Close. He was called to the Bar (Lincoln’s Inn) in 1997. He was appointed as a Recorder in 2020.  He has been deployed to the Northern Circuit, based at Bolton Crown Court.

Daniel Prowse will be known as His Honour Judge Prowse. He was called to the Bar (Inner Temple) in 2004. He was appointed as a Recorder in 2019 and a Tribunal Judge in 2020.  He has been deployed to the Northern Circuit, based at Burnley Crown Court.
