March 7, 2016

Two of Exchange Chambers’ most senior barristers have taken part in a new BBC 4 TV series, documenting the work of the Crown Prosecution Service.

Gordon Cole QC and Benjamin Myers QC both appear in The Prosecutors – Real Crime and Punishment.   Filmed over 18 months with prosecutors in Merseyside, Cheshire and the South East (including Chief Crown Prosecutor Claire Lindley who oversees all prosecutions in the Mersey-Cheshire area), this groundbreaking series goes behind the scenes to reveal how our criminal justice system really works and what it takes to secure a conviction.

In episode two, Gordon Cole QC and Benjamin Myers QC secure guilty verdicts in two murder cases of women who have been killed by someone they know. Benjamin Myers QC prosecutes Paul Fox who is convicted of murdering his mother, while Gordon Cole QC secures a guilty verdict against defendant David Hoyle, who had pleaded not guilty to his murder charge.
