Sarah Johnston appointed as Circuit Judge

The Queen has appointed Sarah Louise Johnston from Exchange Chambers to be a Circuit Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Dominic Raab MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon.

The Lord Chief Justice has deployed her to the Northern Circuit based at Manchester Crown Court with effect from 13 July 2022.

Sarah Louise Johnston will be known as Her Honour Judge Johnston. She was called to the Bar (Gray’s Inn) in 2004. She was appointed as a Recorder in 2016 and as a Fee-paid Judge of the First-tier Tribunal, assigned to the Social Entitlement Chamber in 2019.
