Exchange Chambers strengthens its position as one of the UK’s leading criminal Sets

January 3, 2018

Following the recent application process, Exchange Chambers has increased its number of CPS Category 4 prosecutors to 40 – more than any other barristers’ Chambers in the UK.

Exchange Chambers’ new Category 4 prosecutors are Steven Swift (call 1991), Mark Kellett (call 2000), Sarah Johnston (call 2004) and Jane Greenhalgh (call 2004).

Category 4 is the highest level and is reserved for barristers able to prosecute the most serious of offences.

Director of Chambers Tom Handley said:

“To have more category 4 prosecutors than any other barristers’ Chambers in the UK demonstrates the quality and strength in depth of our criminal team.

“Members of Chambers are consistently acting in cases of the utmost complexity and sensitivity, many of which are high profile and of national importance.”

Exchange Chambers’ criminal department is recognised as one of the largest and most successful in the country.

The 80-strong team receives instructions to prosecute and defend at every level and accepts both publicly funded and privately funded work.
