Death of Ian Foster

April 7, 2017

It is with deep regret that Exchange Chambers reports the death of Ian Foster.

Ian was a talented and popular barrister who was called to the Bar in 1988 and joined Chambers in 2001. Comments from Ian’s colleagues at Exchange Chambers include:

“I can barely remember a day in chambers when I have not heard Ian discuss his latest case or how to put the world to right in his endearingly trenchant manner.” – Anthony Elleray QC

“He was a pleasant, fair, straight but formidable an opponent as you could ever wish for.” – Guy Vickers

“He was warm and engaging throughout and completely selfless. He was the epitome of class.” – Imran Shafi

Tom Handley, Chambers Director, added:

“Ian was a true gentleman. He will be greatly missed by us all.”

Ian’s funeral will take place at 2:45 pm at Huddersfield Crematorium on Thursday 20 April.

The address is Fixby Road, Huddersfield, HD2 2JF.
