Criminal barrister of twenty years’ call makes the Exchange

Exchange Chambers has further strengthened its eighty-strong criminal department with the arrival of Gareth Roberts as a new member.

Gareth, who was called to the Bar in 1999, specialises in both defence and prosecution work. He has been involved in a number of heavyweight cases including fraud, murder and sex offences.

Commenting on his decision to join Exchange Chambers, Gareth, who appeared in the 2016 series of BBC documentary The Prosecutors, said:

“Exchange Chambers has a stellar reputation. The criminal team has strength in depth and outstanding barristers at all levels. It’s a privilege to become a member.”

Before coming to the Bar, Gareth worked as a Researcher and Speech Writer in the House of Commons.

Away from Chambers, he is a coach at Wrexham RFC and represented North Wales as a junior. He has also had three novels published and won an award for his novel, Whatever Happened to Billy Parks.

Gareth Roberts joins Exchange Chambers from Linenhall Chambers in Chester.
