COVID-19: Business Interruption Claims

April 14, 2020

Exchange Chambers has launched a specialist service for policyholders who have had COVID-19 related business interruption claims unfairly rejected.

Although the government has declared coronavirus as a “notifiable disease”, a classification required by many insurance policies, thousands of policyholders have had their claims denied.

While the Association of British Insurers says most business interruption policies are still “unlikely” to cover losses, denied insurance claims are, unfortunately, all too common occurrences.

While insurers will seek to rely on exclusion clauses or other limits on cover inherent in the policy wording, our specialist team is ideally placed to assess the true merits of every claim.
