Benjamin Myers KC and Chris Stables secure verdict of Not Guilty in Murder Trial

May 27, 2026

Benjamin Myers KC and Chris Stables of Exchange Chambers secured a verdict of not guilty to murder after a trial lasting six weeks in Liverpool Crown Court.  They defended Dylan Blundell who was one of five defendants tried for the killing of a drug dealer, in the course of a robbery.  Mr Blundell had pleaded guilty to robbery and possession of an imitation firearm before the trial started, but not guilty to murder.  This was a cut-throat defence that raised complicated issues of joint enterprise.

Mr Blundell was acquitted of the murder and convicted of manslaughter along with two of the other defendants.  The remaining two defendants were convicted of murder.

Ben and Chris were instructed by Dave Woods and Joe Bleasdale of JR Levins Solicitors.
