Record Turnover for Exchange Chambers
Exchange Chambers has announced record turnover of 17.9 million for the 2007 / 2008 financial year. The turnover increase, up from £16.3 million for the last financial year, is particularly impressive considering the downward pressure on the fees paid to barristers for publicly funded work.
“This is a really strong performance,” said Tom Handley, Director of Chambers. “To increase our turnover - and retain our profitability - in the current market is quite an achievement.”
The last 12 months have been notable for Exchange Chambers on a number of levels.
Shortly after being named as “Regional Set of The Year” at the Chambers Bar Awards, Exchange Chambers continued expanding by welcoming its 100th member. Barristers David Casement and Brian Cummings were also made up to Queen’s Counsel - giving Exchange Chambers 15 silks in total.
