Ian Unsworth, a barrister at Exchange Chambers, has been appointed to the A Panel of the Serious Fraud Office's approved list of Counsel.
The Serious Fraud Office is an independent government department that investigates and prosecutes serious or complex fraud.
As part of the SFO's approved list of Counsel, Ian will now be instructed in cases involving complex fraud; corruption; restraint / confiscation / asset recovery; and international criminal law.
Commenting on his appointment, Ian Unsworth said:
"Serious and complex fraud is a major area of my practice so I am delighted to be appointed to the SFO list. The work is challenging, attractive and likely to assume greater prominence in the current economic downturn."

Ian Unsworth was called to the Bar in 1992 has a substantial criminal practice. In addition to his appointment to the SFO list of Counsel, he is on the A List of the Attorney General panel is a category 4 Criminal Prosecutor and has appeared offshore in the Isle of Man. He acts for several prosecuting authorities and provides specialist criminal advice and advocacy to companies and individuals.
