A group of criminal barristers are combining law with lyrics by forming rock band Red Corner to raise money for charity.
Red Corner is made up of four barristers and one clerk at Exchange Chambers in Manchester.
The barristers are David Potter, who takes lead vocals, guitarists Richard Littler and Bob Golinski and drummer David Temkin. The band is completed by criminal clerk Joe Ashcroft on bass.
Richard Littler said:
“We all share a passion and interest in music, specifically 1980s punk and rock music, so it seemed like the perfect way to combine our personal interests with a fundraising initiative.
“We have all put a lot of effort into launching the band and have now completed our CD and played our first gig. Over the coming months we are looking forward to playing at events held by law firms and charities. We’re very much available for bookings!”
The Red Corner CD will be sold to raise funds for two charities; Cancer Research UK and The Scoliosis (Spinal) Association.
“Close friends and relatives of the band have been affected by these illnesses and conditions recently which encouraged us to raise money for these charities to enable them to continue the fantastic work that they do,” added Richard.
The CD contains four professionally recorded tracks and is on sale for £10.
