Louis Browne
Louis was called to the Bar in 1988. He has a First Class Honours degree in law and a Bachelor of Civil Law from Balliol College, Oxford. He is Treasury Counsel.
Louis has expertise and experience in all areas of public law/judicial review. He frequently acts on behalf of both Claimants and Defendants in the Administrative Court. His particular areas of specialism are human rights based challenges in the context of community care, immigration, education and mental health.
He has recently successfully appeared in a major planning judicial review. He is currently acting on behalf of a leading pet collar manufacturer seeking to challenge the Welsh Assembly’s decision to ban electronic dog collars. In addition, he is acting on behalf of HMRC in an EU law challenge to a provision of the VATA 1994.
