Operation Buckeye (R v Hussain and others) – Manchester Crown Court 2010
R v Smith and others - Manchester Crown Court (2009) - A million pound evasion of duty payable on imported tobacco.
Fraud
Operation Abraid (R v Tierney and others)- Liverpool Crown Court (2007/8) - Junior for one of two main defendants in large-scale multi-million pound money laundering and mortgage fraud conspiracy with international connections and alleged employment of corrupt solicitors.
R v O’Toole and others -Preston Crown Court (2007/8) - A conspiracy to obtain property by deception and to launder the proceeds of crime; the case involved the provision by associated companies of damp-proofing alleged to be unnecessary and worthless.
Operation Scalpel (R v Jennings and others) - Manchester Crown Court (2005/7) - A half a million pound fraud involving finance company advertising unsecured loans to the adverse credit market for payment of up-front administration fees.
Murder
R v Gardner – Liverpool Crown Court (2009) - High profile murder: cyclist pursued by defendant in car and fatally stabbed.
Child Cruelty
R v Bond – Liverpool Crown Court (2008) - A high–profile and unique child abandonment case: mother of two babies abandoned on two separate occasions traced through DNA. The case involved research into “late discovery” pregnancies.

Operation Colon - A large-scale and complex fraud involving the submission of hundreds of purported personal injury claims by a fraudulent claims management company with the purpose of defrauding firms of solicitors of referral fees.
Operation Cloudlet - A complex multi-handed cheat on the Revenue, involving the submission of numerous false applications for the repayment of VAT, by a business group purportedly operating a series of bona fides companies.
Operation Anfield - Leading junior in a complex multi-million pound proceeds of crime application made after the defendants’ conviction for cheating the revenue and money laundering.
Operation Compost - Led by Brian Cummings QC, a large-scale multi-million pound oil fraud involving the laundering and onward distribution of rebated fuel. The case also includes prosecution for a major pollution incident following the leak of red diesel into the Grand Union Canal.
Operation Lillywhite - A large-scale and multi-handed conspiracy to fraudulently obtain tax- credits.
