Andrew Ward

Andrew read law at Jesus College, Oxford University, where he was a Scholar. He also obtained the postgraduate law degree of Bachelor of Civil Law (B.C.L.) at Oxford University.

 

The great majority of Andrew’s practice comprises personal injury litigation. He acts for both claimants and defendants. He has substantial experience of multi-track and fast track litigation involving the following issues in particular:-

 

 * Brain and spinal injury cases;

 * Brachial plexus injuries;

 * Fatal accident claims;

 * Occupiers’ Liability claims;

 * Employers’ Liability claims;

 * Road traffic accident claims;

 * Credit hire cases (of any value);

 * Animals Act claims;

 * Issues of fraud and exaggeration.

 

Andrew also has significant experience of insurance policy coverage issues related to personal injury litigation including advising upon the Third Parties (Rights Against Insurers) Acts 1930 and 2010. He acts in claims concerning the scope of indemnity provided by motor insurance policies including actions against the MIB; and he regularly advises upon employers’ liability and public liability policies.

 

Recent cases include an award of £623,977 achieved for a claimant who sustained a brachial plexus injury to his left shoulder and arm following a road traffic accident in October 2009. The award was achieved at a joint settlement meeting in August 2011.
