Alfred Weiss

Alfred has developed excellent relationships with a number of local authorities across his practice areas.   

 

He is regularly instructed in Employment matters that include:

 

·         Appeals before the Employment Appeal Tribunal

·         Tribunal cases, from straightforward unfair dismissal and redundancy cases, through to complex and lengthy discrimination and whistleblowing matters

·         Advices, such as on the impact of austerity measures on the workforce’s terms and conditions

 

Alfred also advises and represents local authorities in PI litigation in a range of cases that involve issues of Employer’s liability; Occupier’s liability; Highways Act claims; and claims involving schools.

 

He also has acted for Local Authorities in civil proceedings on matters under the Animal Welfare Act 2006, including in sizeable cases in which large numbers of animals have been seized from private owners under the ‘distress’ provisions of the Animal Welfare Act 2006.  

 

As part of his commercial practice Alfred can advise and represent Local Authorities in a number of areas of law such as in matters relating to contracts and service agreements, injunctions and restrictive covenants, and duties of confidentiality and disclosure.
