Practice
Adrian has been an exclusively criminal practitioner since 1988, first as a solicitor, then, since 1997, as a barrister.
His experience covers the complete spectrum of criminal offences, including homicide (including fatal driving and gross negligence health and safety cases), drugs, fraud, firearms, serious sexual offences and confiscation. With a great deal of experience as a led junior, he is now most frequently instructed in "senior junior" work alone or as a leading junior.
He is a Category 4 prosecutor and is on the Attorney General's list. As such, he is regularly instructed in complex, high profile, sensitive and multi-handed cases.
Equally at home defending, his practice has a similar profile and includes VHCC and other complex cases.
A particular specialist area of Adrian's practice is Local Authority prosecution work. His previous prosecution experience commends him to local authority lawyers and investigators and his experience of fraud, confiscation, copyright, trading standards and food safety cases is equally invaluable when defending.
With a reputation for hard work, thorough preparation and effective advocacy, Adrian is always in demand as an approachable criminal practitioner in chambers.
